Events in Your Neighborhood
The Bridgton Public Library hosts a story time every Friday, including on September 25th. The library also hosts on the last Friday of each month from 2-4:30 pm Project Home, which provides rental agency services, resident service coordination, and eviction prevention services in partnership with landlords to rent to tenants who have experienced homelessness and/or housing insecurity throughout Maine. They also offer 1-1 Tech Help from 2-4 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. And they have a plant propagation station that people can drop off or pick up plants, located at the entrance to our youth services area. The Bridgton Public Library’s primary purpose is to serve the community as its information and cultural enrichment center. They provide access to educational, informational, and recreational resources in a friendly, safe atmosphere while being responsive to the changing needs of the community.
Thomaston to Host New Resident Night on September 24th Thomaston residents who have moved to town since January 1, 2020 are invited to a special New Resident Night on Wednesday, September 24 from 5:00–7:00 pm in the Lura Libby Room at the Thomaston Municipal Building (13 Valley Street). The open-house style event will feature refreshments, door prizes, and an opportunity for new residents to connect with Thomaston’s community and resources. Guests will be able to meet municipal leaders and staff, chat with members of the Select Board, and learn more about the services and amenities available in town. The evening will also provide information on how Thomaston’s Town Meeting style of government works, ways to get involved with local boards and committees, and resources from a variety of town departments and community partners. The event is free and open to all who have moved to Thomaston since January 1, 2020. University of Maine at Machias: Join us for a FREE, fun-filled day bringing Downeast Maine families together with local activities, resources, services, and community organizations—all under one roof!
Saturday, September 26, 2026, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Reynolds Center Gymnasium at the University of Maine at Machias, Rain or shine!
Planned highlights include: Car Seat Check; Touch a Truck; Live music; Live animals, pending confirmation; Hands-on activities and crafts for kids; FREE bag lunch; Local programs, businesses, family resources, and community groups; More activities and surprises to be announced
